THE INSPIRATION

A whimsical floral dress for a themed party.

After finding the base garment at a thrift store, I purchased a variety of fake flowers, plugged in my trusty hot glue gun, and spent the weekend crafting an outfit for a magic garden-themed party.

I sorted flowers and began hot-gluing them in clusters all over the dress.

Gradually, I glued more flowers all over the dress in a sweeping pattern. I wanted the flowers to look like they were naturally blowing across the dress.

I strung petals onto clear fishing wire to create decorative wraps for my hands and legs. I also made shoe covers and a hair clip.

For a whimsical, glowing effect, I used battery powered LED light strings and secured them through the flowers.
